Drainage Solutions

Water damage is one of the most expensive problems a homeowner can face, and San Diego's clay soils and seasonal rains make proper drainage essential. We design and install complete drainage systems that move water away from your foundation, eliminate standing water in your yard, and prevent erosion on slopes. From French drains and channel drains to grading corrections and dry creek beds, we solve drainage problems at the source, not with temporary fixes.

Common Questions About Drainage Solutions

How do I know if I have a drainage problem?

Common signs include standing water after rain, soggy or muddy patches that never dry out, water stains on your foundation, cracks in your foundation or retaining walls, or soil erosion on slopes. If you notice any of these, it's worth a free assessment.

How long does a French drain last?

A properly installed French drain with quality filter fabric and gravel can last 30-40 years. We use heavy-duty perforated pipe and commercial-grade filter fabric in all our installations to maximize lifespan.

Do drainage projects require permits?

Most residential drainage work in San Diego does not require a permit unless it connects to the public storm drain system or involves significant grading. We'll advise you during the estimate if your project needs a permit.

What affects the cost of a drainage project?

The main factors are the length of drain runs, depth of trenching, soil conditions (San Diego's clay soils can be challenging), access to the work area, and where the water will discharge. We provide detailed estimates after a site visit.
